Rolling On – The Best Handful of Tips 105 – Prepare for the FUTURE

Prepare for the FUTURE

Commit yourself to a life of on-going personal development.

          Over the next decade, you will need many new skills. Jobs will go to those who update their qualifications, master new skills, are reliable and hard working.

Five best tips to improve your future prospects

* Constantly learn new skills

          Things are constantly changing so it is essential to adapt to new ideas and technologies.

          Attend courses and workshops.

          Read and study widely.

          Learn new languages. You’re going to need them.

          Qualifications and skills are easy to carry around.

* Build your self-esteem

          Aim to project an aura of confidence.

          To feel the exhilaration of success accept new challenges. Never turn down a job because you are not sure if you can do it. How do you know until you try?

          Offer to organise events.

          Travel to other countries and observe different cultures. Travelling gives you challenging situations and helps you build your confidence.

          Join organisations to gain new experiences that will help you improve your confidence.

* Set up new networks

          By joining new organisations you will make new contacts. There are many cultural, educational, sporting and service clubs in most areas that would be worth joining. Find one that suits your interests and needs. Be prepared to take office. Start by offering to join the committee.

          Keep networking. Who you know can be more important than what you know!

* Be curious

          Constantly seek new information. Don’t take anything for granted. Keep asking the hard questions. What, why, when, where, how and how much?

          Explore new ideas. Use your imagination.

* Be ambitious

          Make your dreams come true by breaking your goals into short-term objectives and setting time-limits. There is nothing like a dream to plan your future.

          Challenge ourselves to deadlines and tell others about your plans. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

          Start now by pausing, planning and preparing your future. It’s over to you!
