Rolling On – The Best Handful of Tips 137 – HEALTHY Tips

HEALTHY Tips

If you don’t look after your body no one else will. You are the most important person in your world so watch your diet and exercise regularly.

Five of the best tips to stay healthy

* Maintain a balanced diet – eat sensible meals

            Plan nutritious and regular meals.

            Your diet should include plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and complex carbohydrates. Reduce the intake of fats, sugar and salt. Eat moderately. Don’t get carried away with unusual diets.

            Take care not to eat heavily sprayed foods, such as rice.

            Reduce your intake of coffee and alcoholic drinks. Try alternatives like drinking safe boiled water, green tea or healthy low-sugar juices.

            Drink plenty of safe water. Watch out for ice in countries that have dubious water supplies. Even in the best hotels ice can be dangerous in some Asian and Pacific countries.

            Keep a regular check on your weight.

* Exercise regularly

            Don’t spend the day sitting in front of a computer. Move about as much as possible. Don’t do all your communications online. Get up and visit people. Take a walk and a break during your lunchtime.

            You don’t have to go to a gym to maintain fitness. Try walking up stairs instead of using a lift. Get off the bus one section away from your destination and enjoy a brisk walk.

            Play sports, go tramping and enjoy walking and exploring.

            Keep your mind active. Make time for reading, visiting and travelling. Learn new skills and make new friends.

* Get enough sleep

            Most adults need 7-8 hours’ sleep a night.

            You need to be physically tired to get enough sleep so keep active. Don’t spend your day working a computer and the night sitting in front of a television set.

* No pill-popping, smoking or illegal drugs

            Smoking and drug-taking are harmful to the body. If you have a problem seek professional help. Keep away from taking pills if you can.

* Have regular medical checks

            Maintain good dental, ear and eye care.

            Enjoy life, have fun, keep smiling and active!

            Take care of what you eat and drink.
