TEAM Bonding
To be a good leader at work you need to possess the three H’s, Humanity, Humility and Humour.
By bonding, you can build a better relationship with your team.
High- performance organisations have moved beyond autocratic leadership styles into cooperative approaches where management and staff share their visions and work together.
Five of the best tips to improve bonding and relationships with staff
* Treat people the way you would like to be treated
As a leader or a manager, this rule is the key to your success.
Show care and respect, be sincere and be tolerant if they make mistakes.
* Set a good example
People pay more attention to what you do than what you say. Lead by example.
Set a good example in work and play and do what you say you will do and always be honest.
* Build relationships
Don’t be in a hurry. Make the time to chat with people. Go for a coffee, or take lunch with them and forget business for a while. Try to find out their interests. Ask open-ended questions and avoid interrupting them. Let them chat.
* Try to understand the problems and the pain of others. Empathise with people in difficult times
Be compassionate and tolerant when things go wrong.
Always consider the welfare of others and offer help when needed.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Give them time off to help solve their problems.
* Encourage and support people
If you give people support and encouragement they will often perform at a higher level than everyone thought possible.
