Tips from Successful MANAGERS
A successful Singapore businessman explained his success.
“When I set up my business I began servicing small companies. I aimed to give them a high quality, low cost, fast service. As they grew so did my business.”
A handful of tips from successful business leaders
* Set yourself specific goals
What do you hope to achieve?
Keep focused on your goals and try to keep to the basics.
* Build good relationships and alliances
You can never have too many friends in business.
Join appropriate organisations to network and make friends.
Use all the brains you have and all the brains you can access.
* Speak less and listen more
Ask the hard questions. Keep them coming and keep them simple, such as “what, why, when, where, how and how much”.
* Give your teams more responsibilities
If you do this they will relieve you of some of your work pressures and they will grow and develop on the job.
Don’t take the credit for all the successes. Share credit with colleagues.
Recognise achievements and be generous with your praise. “Thank you. You did a good job. Well done!” These few words can mean much to people.
* Commit yourself to a life of on-going personal development
Make time to keep up with new developments by travelling, studying, reading and researching.
Take control of your own destiny.
Face reality as it is today – not as it was in the past.
