My BLOGGING REPORT – – Rolling On – Management Tip 70
My BLOGGING REPORT
I have held many interesting jobs in my career from a Farm Advisor in New Zealand, a Director of a Government Ministry, a Senior University Lecturer, and a Senior Planner-Programmer for the United Nations Development Programme for Asia and the Pacific.
I have carried out aid work for four countries and missions for three United Nation Agencies.
* Why am I blogging?
I have done tasks in some sixteen countries, some many times: for example, Singapore 50 times, Sri Lanka 10, Bangladesh 10, Samoa 4 and in 12 other countries such as Indonesia and Viet Nam
I have learned much from the people I have worked with.
Over 2,500 managers have attended my workshops in Asian and Pacific countries.
At the Singapore Institute of Management, I have run 31, three-day workshops.
My longest workshops have been for 5 weeks in Sri Lanka and in Samoa.
Many of my experiences have been written up in my reports and in my books. I have eighty-six editions in 18 countries and in 11 languages.
I blog to share some of the information I have learned from others.
So far I have posted 570 blogs, had 1,862 visitors and have had 7,561 hits. The best blog had 180 hits.
* Who do I blog for?
I blog to remind busy people moving into leadership roles some of the key issues. The topics covered are some of the practical skills needed in communication, training, management and leadership.
Since I started my career many changes have occurred, but basic principles never change, only the communication tools we use. People’s emotions and feelings remain the same.
Most of my tips come from selected recommendations from my books.
At the start, I was advised by two granddaughters to keep my blogs short because people haven’t the time to read long-winded articles. That’s why a handful of tips contains only five tips – a handful of tips.
