Become a LEADER

Good leaders are always in demand for top management roles.

          They are not born they develop .

          Leadership is principally a behavioural skill and can be learnt.

          Leaders are recognised because their teams produce superior work and have a higher output.

A handful of tips to help you become a good leader

* Be a role model

          Set high standards at work and in the community.

          Dress well, speak well and play well.

          Try to inspire your people to go beyond what they thought they could accomplish.

* Become a skilled communicator

          Build your confidence by learning the arts of effective communication.

          Speak the language of your workers and your clients.

          Learn to run effective group meetings  and to make presentations. Make them enjoyable.

          Study ways to write right. Write for easy reading – avoid foggy writing.

* Develop a positive attitude

          Be passionate  and enthusiastic about your organisation and your ideas. Remember enthusiasm can be contagious.

          Accept responsibilities. Learn to make fast, sound decisions.

* Trust your people

          Delegate decision making down to where the actions take place

          Encourage your people to make a contribution  to the success of the organisation.

* Build high performance teams

          Select people with care. Ambitious people are a good bet.

          Balance teams and move them around the organisation to gain wide experience.          

          Mentor them and train them well.

          Respond to their needs.
