* Constantly learn new skills

         Things are constantly changing so it is essential to adapt to new ideas and technologies – especially communication skills.

         Commit yourself to a life of on-going personal development.        

         Attend courses and workshops. Read and study widely.

         Learn new languages.

         Qualifications and skills are easy to carry around.

* Try new roles

         To feel the exhilaration of success accept new challenges.

         Never turn down a job because you are not sure if you can do it. How do you know until you try? Try to project an aura of confidence.

          New experiences will help you move nearer to your goals.

* Build new networks

         Build your self-esteem by joining organisations and taking on responsible roles.

         Make fresh contacts by joining new organisations . There are many cultural, educational, sporting and service clubs in most areas that would be worth joining .

         Find one that suits your interests and your needs.  

         Keep networking. Who you know can be more important than what you know.  

         Network at social events.    Ask direct and open questions . Use lead-ins such as…‘What do you think about….’   ‘Are you happy with …’ What would you do if you were in charge?

* Stay focused with to-do lists

         Set audacious goals and make up list of activities to be achieved by when. Try to learn from people who inspire you and see if you can get them to mentor and coach you.

* Be ambitious

         Make your dreams come true by breaking

 your goals into short-term objectives and  setting time-limits. There is nothing like a dream to plan your future.

         We work best when we challenge ourselves  to deadlines, especially if we tell others about our plans.
