Become a WINNER – Rolling On – Management Tip 83

If you believe you can do great things and you are confident, it’s amazing what you can achieve.

         Success comes when you do things right, when you learn how to make the best use of your time and how to deal with people.

          There are four keys to becoming a winner  – tenacity of purpose , what you know , who you know, and the necessary resources.

A handful of tips to help you become a winner

* Keep up to date

         Commit yourself to a life of on-going personal development. The world is changing fast with new technology being developing day by day. Keep abreast  with new developments or you will be left behind.

         Join organisations to learn and practice new skills.

         Keep studying for new qualifications. Today you can qualify from home, online. New qualifications are so easy to carry around and look good on your C.V.

* Take risks

         Experiment and evaluate new ways of doing things

         Take some risks and learn from your mistakes.

* Strive to do every task better next time

         All jobs should be evaluated. “What did I do right?” “What mistakes did I make” “What changes should I make next time.”

         Evaluations don’t have to be complicated – keep them simple and get into the habit of  always doing an evaluation at the finish of a task.

* Ask simple questions and listen hard

         The way you act with other people will largely be the key to your success. Ask simple questions and make a special effort to listen to replies.

* Treat people the way you would like them to treat you

         Go to a quiet place to analyse and consider these points. Make your own plans for the coming year.

         Grant me the spark to imagine

                  the energy to enthuse

                 the daring to innovate

                 the discipline to plan

                 the skill to perform

                 the will to achieve

                 the commitment to be responsible

                 the leadership to motivate.
