A Handful of Tips to help you get your message to the right people
* First do your research
Before you start your preparation decide exactly who you are aiming your message at.
What do they know, and what do they want to know?
* What size audience will you have?
Will it be a mixed audience or a specific group?
* Will you be trying to influence them, or to entertain them?
* What will be their level of education?
Do they speak English?
What is their back ground? Will your jokes and anecdotes be appreciated ?
Unless you do your homework you can get into trouble and waste much time and effort.
* Beliefs, attitudes and values
Will they have strong prejudices – consider their religious and political views.
What do you think will motivate them?
If you have been asked to give a presentation, find out why you were asked and as much as possible about your potential audience.
