MOTIVATION – Reactivate Your People –
Many employees get bored with their job, they become discontented and their production declines. When this happens try counselling them and challenge them with new tasks.
A handful of tips to help you reactivate your people
Isolate areas of concern and discuss problems
Express your concerns and ask them about their life goals and their objectives.
Try to isolate areas of concern.
What do they want from their work? Explain you want to help them.
Listen to their personal troubles. Counsel them if you can, or arrange for a professional counsellor to help them.
Ask for ideas and suggest new challenges
Ask them their ideas on ways to improve their work and their output.
Move people around into new tasks
Suggest new challenges and seek their reaction and views.
Offer to arrange training them for new jobs.
Stimulate them by suggesting new career prospects. “Shortly we will be opening a new branch office and we will be needing a manager.”
Rewrite job specifications
Perhaps you could draw up a new work contract giving them a new role.
Encourage them to study and join outside organisations
Encourage them to join outside organisations and to take leadership responsibilities.
They may be encouraged to learn new skills outside their work.
Ambitious workers make the best people to recruit, to hold and to train.
Reassure employees you are interested in their ideas and their work and you plan to follow their progress on a regular basis.
