A Handful of Tips to help you make the best use of your time
* Work smarter – not harder
Think long and hard about your lifestyle and how to ration your time.
Assign time for family commitments, work and your leisure.
Build in thinking times.
Make the time to plan your tasks and activities.
* Set your goals
Break each goal down into small, achievable steps.
Decide to tackle one step at a time and concentrate on that step until completed. Then move on to the next step.
Try to give both people, and your tasks your full attention. Concentrate, and try not to daydream.
Try not to multitask. Aim for one job at a time.
Learn to make fast decisions.
* Set priorities
Work smarter NOT harder.
Make a ‘to-do’ list of tasks. Arrange them in order of importance and indicate when they should be completed.
To save time and effort don’t put things down – put them away.
Keep a schedule. Set your tasks for the following day before leaving work.
Do the things that are urgent first. Don’t waste time on unimportant activities.
Avoid procrastination. Get things done as soon as possible.
* Delegate activities
Delete tasks to where the action takes place, You are as only as good as your staff so recruit carefully. Train them to take responsibilities.
Delegate your routine tasks and your least important activities.
* Reward yourself
Take periodic breaks to keep your energy levels up.
Reward yourself when you have achieved a goal or carried out a task to your satisfaction.
You will gain the reputation of a person who gets things done quickly and efficiently.
Review your progress periodically.
