SELECTED Rolling On Blogs 1

Season’s greetings from Wellington New Zealand. May 2022 be a good year for you and your family.

        My new series “Stimulating Agriculture” does not appear popular so I will not continue with it. I will rework some of my more popular blogs.

        In 2021 I lost a daughter and my good wife so I hope this will be a better year.

 Now is the time to take stock, to review the past year, to erase old habits and begin new ones.

            Have a break and return to work fresh.

            Set your sights high this coming year and never allow past experiences to prevent you from achieving great things. It’s amazing what you can achieve if you plan well and believe you can do things.

The five best tips for making 2022 a year of achievements

* Start afresh

            Arrive back in the new year at your workplace fresh, full of vigour and full of new ideas.

            Get yourself organised.

            Be ruthless! Before you leave work clean up the clutter from your past year. Dispose of things you don’t need. Clean up your computer files.

         Get started now!

* Make realistic plans

            One of the great pleasures in life is doing what others say you cannot do.  Make fresh plans. What are you planning to do this coming year?  During your break put your goals in writing and keep them handy where you can refer to them often.

         Are you happy at work? Do you need to start looking for work that you will enjoy?  Choose a job and work you enjoy will be much more fun.

            Aim high – aim for self-improvement.

            Sometimes the greatest achievements come from the biggest challenges. If a challenge seems over-whelming, break it down into achievable parts.

         Set deadlines and attempt one task at a time. People who begin many things finish few.

         Reward yourself when you reach a  goal.

* Set your priorities

            Take control of your time and focus on what is important. Decide what things are trivia and ration your time accordingly.  You can achieve great things if you aren’t too involved doing little things.

            Don’t become a servant to others. Set your own priorities and learn to decline tasks. When people ask you to do things that distract from your own goals say ; “No!,  Sorry I am too busy at the moment.”

* Learn new skills

            The business world is dynamic.  Keep up with new developments in your work or you will be left behind.

            Aim to keep improving all skills especially your communication skills. If you are a skilled communicator you are more likely to get your ideas accepted. Consider joining a speaking club such as a Toastmasters Club, a debating society or a drama group.

            Qualifications and new skills are easy to carry around and could lead you to new opportunities.

* Become an achiever

            People judge others by what they have done and what they have achieved.

          Earn a reputation  for meeting deadlines and getting jobs done well. People may doubt what you say, but not what you have done.

            You can achieve anything if you provide a service that people need.

            Always try to treat others the way you would like to be treated. This is the golden rule for success in life.
