To Succeed at WORK –
“There is nothing like a dream to help plan your future.”
You will succeed at work if you learn to do all things well – the simple things and the difficult things.
Today, with its rapidly changing technology, you must make constant learning one of your goals.
A Handful of tips to help you climb the ladder at work
* Keep learning new skills
Commit yourself to a life of ongoing personal development.
Keep constantly developing and up-grade your present ones.
Attend every training session on offer.
* Strive to do every task better
Evaluate all your tasks and keep asking yourself “How could I do this better next time ?” By following this simple rule it will help you climb the ‘success ladder’ at work.
Experiment and evaluate new ways of doing things. Every situation and organization is unique.
There are times when you should forget the “gurus” in your business.
Try experimenting and testing new ways of doing things for yourself.
Take risks and learn from your mistakes. We rarely learn from our successes, but you will make real progress if you are prepared to learn from your mistakes.
* Make a plan; set a goal
In your journey through life, you must know where you are going and what you want to achieve.
Decide where you would like to be in five, then in ten years’ time.
Plan your future – set your sights high.
Be honest and modest on the way.
Be prepared to work hard.
* Networking is essential
It is often said that who you know is more important than what you know.
Get yourself some experienced mentors. Join clubs and groups that can help you improve your skills and get known to many people.
* Remember the ‘golden rule’
Treat people the way you would like them to treat you.
This simple ‘golden rule’, regardless of a person’s race or creed, is still the most important law for a satisfying and successful career.
