REFLECTIONS – Odds & Ends 45

We are all visitors to this planet. Some of us stay longer than others, but our stay is short.

It’s a great pity people get put out to pasture when they are at the peak of their knowledge and work life, and a new crop of youngsters come on to make the same mistakes that we have already made

Technology changes rapidly but our emotions and feelings remain the same as our past family members. You have the same emotions as your grandparents.

There is little new in this world, especially in the important field of human relations. Our aspirations and drives are usually the same regardless of race, or creed.

We all have the same emotions and are motivated by the same incentives.

It seems inevitable that each generation

makes the same mistakes as previous generations.

As organizations build and get more complex there is often the desire to reduce complexity by splitting the organization into separate units. The next audit reverses the process. When will we learn?

Nothing seems permanent except change. There is nothing wrong with change, if it’s in the right direction.

Change is unnatural, but there are powerful forces at work to avoid it.  People fear change because it undermines their security.

We can all learn from past mistakes, but it seems most people need to make their own mistakes.
