Creating WORK – Rolling On – Management Tip 26

Creating WORK

Many good people have lost their jobs! If you are one of them now is the time to start afresh.

          Why not learn a new skill or start working from your home.  There is an old saying that “Old dogs can be taught new tricks.” Learning a new skill can be invigorating and interesting. No

          Many large organisations started working in a house or in a garage.

Here is a handful of tips to get you started

* Train for a new career

          Have you an interesting hobby that could be turned into a business?

Many people have started making a living from a hobby.

* Set up your own business

          Can you identify a local need?

          What services do people need in your district?

* Work from home

          In the book “No Job! What Now?”

there are 44 different jobs that can be done from home. For example:

          Bulk buying and repackage items for sale.

          Create an online store.

          Sell crafts for other people.

          Buy old items of furniture and do them up for resale.

          Higher-out wall pictures or pot plants for offices.

          Grow high-value plants or herbs for sale.

          Organise events, or act as a tour guide.

          Prepare and deliver lunches to office workers,

          Do gardening for busy people or shop for others.

          Take pet dogs for walks.

          Buy fruit when it is cheap and turn it into jams, sauces, marmalades for sale.

          Write and publish books. 86 editions of my books have been published by 31 publishers in 18 countries and in 11 languages written and published from my home.

* Seek work overseas

          When one door closes, another usually opens. Are you ready for a change of environment and occupation?

          Have you a skill that can be used in some other country?

          Many countries need people to teach English.

          Be prepared to take some risks and make the most of the opportunities when they arise. I have carried out tasks in16 countries. It’s been very rewarding and a lot of fun.

          Don’t sit and wait – look for your next opportunity.

  1. I am very lucky to still be in work, but have a lot bought seeds to plant in my apartment! Nature seems to be a lot more important in my life now.
